The Osun Record: One Month On
What we hold of all 3,752 result sheets INEC published for Osun, the 2h54m freeze measured from INEC's own timestamps, and the 11 polling units with no document at all, each one named.
On August 15, Osun elected a governor. One month on, this is what our record holds, and what it still cannot show. Every figure below comes from a single pull of our live board at 14:40 UTC on 18 September 2026.
E Don Kast captured polling unit result sheets in real time as INEC published them to IReV, alongside submissions from citizens and observers on the ground. INEC's portal shows 3,752 of Osun's 3,763 polling units with a result document uploaded. Our archive holds all 3,752. Of those, 3,733 carry figures we tabulated, 17 are units INEC annulled after voting, with its cancellation form on file, one is a blank sheet, and one we hold under our own review. The remaining 11 polling units have no document on IReV at all.
Our independent tabulation from the 3,733 sheets with figures: Accord 510,783 votes (51.85%), APC 444,733 (45.15%), and the other thirteen parties 29,601 (3.00%) between them, of 985,117 valid votes. Only INEC declares official results. Our figures are an independent aggregation of what INEC's own published sheets say, and every line traces back to the sheet it came from. On election night we reported 3,254 polling units as results came in; INEC's uploads continued over the following days.
Two findings from the record deserve the public's attention.
First, result transmission froze for 2 hours and 54 minutes on election night, from 20:48 to 23:42, with the upload stream at 87% completion. This is not an estimate. It is measured from INEC's own upload timestamps, sheet by sheet.

Second, INEC has never published a result sheet for 11 polling units. Not on election night, and not in the five weeks since. We re-checked IReV on 18 September: 3,752 of 3,763 polling units carry a document, the same 3,752 as on 28 August, with nothing added, replaced or removed. A missing polling unit should be a specific, answerable question, not a rounding error, so we name all 11:
Boripe: 29-06-09-013, Open Space, Yekini Oyedele Junction, opposite Hephzibah Gas Plant, Iree (Isale Asa Iree ward); and 29-06-11-006, Iyaji Asalu, Iree (Oke Aree ward).
Ife Central: 29-11-04-017, Open Space, Igbo Agbo (Ilare IV ward); 29-11-05-010, L.A. Primary School, Ajebamidele (Iremo/Ajebandele ward); and 29-11-09-011, Open Space Garage, Isale (Iremo V ward).
Ifedayo: 29-12-01-003, St. Stephen School, Araromi (Oyi ward).
Ifelodun: 29-14-07-006, Oja Baale (Okeba Ikirun ward).
Ilesa West: 29-19-09-003, Post Office (Ereja ward).
Odo-Otin: 29-25-02-002, Shopping Complex, Ekusa Road, Okuku (Baale ward).
Olorunda: 29-27-05-005, Frontage of Women/Youth Centre (Owoope ward).
Osogbo: 29-30-04-002, Ogo-Oluwa Kitan I (Ataoja 'D' ward).
These are real, functioning polling units. All 11 published a result sheet on election day in the 2022 governorship election, and between them they accredited 2,998 voters that year. INEC has published no per-unit explanation for any of them, and we do not supply one. Our board shows each of the 11 under its own label, "No result document published on IReV": not as a result, and not as a cancellation, because no INEC document asserts either. Nothing has changed on IReV since 28 August. We hope it still will: the day INEC publishes a sheet for any of these units, our record will carry it.
What makes this record durable is how it is kept. Every sheet is fingerprinted the moment we capture it, and no archived image is ever overwritten or deleted. Our archive holds all 3,756 sheet images INEC published for Osun: one for each of 3,752 polling units, plus both versions of the four sheets INEC replaced on election night, each under its own fingerprint recorded at capture. Anyone holding a fingerprint can prove the image in the archive is the one that was captured. What was published is what sits in the archive today, and it will still be checkable years from now.
We are not a party to any dispute about this election, and we take no view on what the findings mean. Our role is narrower: to hold the record, keep it intact, and make it checkable by anyone. Questions about the freeze and the 11 unpublished units are INEC's to answer.
Figures are as of the stated cut, 18 September 2026, 14:40 UTC. The record continues to incorporate late uploads and adjudications.
